What do you want to do with your life?

If you ask a kid, or even a teen this question, most will shrug their shoulders and say " I don't know." But, I believe I know what I want to do. If you would have talked to me around Christmas time, you would've found out that I could've cared less about school. Since then, I've made a complete 180. I love going to school, I like all my classes. Well, all except Spanish, but that's for another blog post, and not this one. I'm close to a straight A student, just that dreaded Spanish class, but I'm working on it. Along with this miraculous turn around, has come a new interest. Before I tell you about this new interest, I'd better tell you about the old one. Since I was a bout 11 years old, I've always looked up, and wondered where it all came from, and why we were here. How did we come to be, and how did it all start. Just a few weeks ago, I went to the library, and picked up on the Stephen Hawking's books, "A Brief History of Time." In this book, he talks about many things, which all boggle my mind, and confuse me more than anything else does. But then I realized that this was for me; that I needed to do this. It was like an irresistible urge to keep going at this, even though I hardly know anything about this. Now I will tell you the new interest: Physics. Now I'm sure all of the older people that have already been through high school(and maybe college) remember their physics class, and they want to pull their teeth out. I don't want physics to be my main focus, but astrophysics.

Just last week, I went to the book store, and picked up a book that will some what teach me physics. It's alright, but that's not for this post either. With getting that book, I realized that this really was for me, and that if I just put my mind to it, I could do it. So, on Friday, I went to talk to my physics teacher, and asked him if he had any extra time to just show me the basics, and teach them to me. He said no, but he did give me a physics textbook, and told me to read it, and that he was fascinated by my passion. This made me want to do this even more. All my life, people have told me that I would amount to nothing, and to hear that he was fascinated by me, and my passion, made me want to prove so many people wrong. So far, I have.

As I said before, I have all A's, except for my Spanish class. When I was talking to me English teacher last week, I brought up the idea about me going into honors next year. To my surprise, she agreed with me, and said that she thought that it would be the best thing for me. Again, that made me want to prove them all wrong. Along with that, I'm fortunate enough to be taking a course at the community college in my area. I don't know what I'm going to take yet, but I know it's either going to be Astronomy, or just some math class.

I have total faith in myself know, and I know I can do this.

Racism

I would first like to start off by saying that I am white, and not racist. I say this because my views can be seen as racist, but let me assure you, I am not. I am writing this for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons for me writing this is because the evident stupidity in my American Government class. Every colored person in there has something to say about the white society, but yet they don't take a look in the mirror. What I mean by this is that: They seem to always play the race card when they here a common stereotype. I'll give an example: One day in class, we had to act like we were the president, and what we would believe in and take action to first. One of mine were to take away welfare. Now, before you huff and puff, this assignment was very brief and to the point, so I couldn't explain my answer, but I will to you. But before I do so, every black person in that class turned to me and said racist. I can see were they are getting this thought from, but if I were them, I would try to get away from the common stereotype that only black people are on welfare. But no, they reinforced it by stating that I was racist for that very stereotype that I listed above. Now, the reason I would do that is this: America is in serious debt, and has more enemies than is comfortable. We can't waist our spending on people who can't work, we need to spend it on foreign relations, and trying to get our economy rolling again. I know I may sound dumb, and like I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm in 10Th grade, cut me a break. The mere fact that I am writing this is surrounding the idiots in my class, and school.

I thought of this while I was talking to my friend. Have you ever noticed that most black people try to act like they're better than you, but when something is said to them, they try to turn around and act like the neglected race? I will agree with you, that they were slaves at one time, but that time is over. Also, racism has been around forever, and not just for Africans. The enslaved their own kind, while white people enslaved their own kind too. So to say that you were the only race that was at a neglected state, is a false statement. What I don't get is how they can turn everything around to being racist. There was a case where I live when 4 teen black boys assaulted a white lady on a transit bus. When the boys were asked why they did it, I bet you can guess what their reply was. "She called us Niggers, and other slurs." The kids got off without any charge, while they lady was in the hospital for some months. I'm not denying the fact that she might have said something to them, but the fact that they got off without anything is appalling in itself. They interviewed some people that were on that bus, and they said they didn't here any slurs come out of the lady's mouth. They put a lady in the hospital, and just because a slur might have been said, they get off free? I don't think so. Now, back to how they switch back and forth between high and low. There are some black girls in my school who think that all white girls are beneath them, and that they're better. Needless to say how rude they are to everyone. But the same girls will use racism as a way to get out of a situation, and relate it to everything. Like I said before with the welfare situation. I'm trying not to use they much because it gives off the impression of stereotypes, and I hate them.

Another thing is how some ignorant black people can take even the simplest thing, and turn it into a racist comment. For example: When we had our picnic for 8Th grade, we did a home run derby. The students organized it, and the teachers had no idea what was going on. Anyways, this black kid asked me if he could move all the way to the front, just because he was getting hot. I know this is not a big deal, but I was not the only one who said no. The same kid then preceded
to call us all racist "crackas" and stormed off. Now this is another thing I don't get. Not only do they turn everything into a form of racism, but they themselves are allowed to be racist, but as soon as a white guy says something, all hell breaks lose. I'm sure everyone that is reading this knows what I'm talking about, and has experianced it first hand. They're allowed to say every racial slur in the book, make fun of our custom's, and even our family. But all a white guy has to say is "Fried chicken" and it's like the world is going to end. I mean, really? Are we really allowing this to take over food too? I suppose that one day we wont be able to look a certain way without it being racist, because that's the direction it's headed in.

One thing that I wanted to point out is how manipulated everything has gotten. All Dr.King wanted was equality. I'm sure if he was here today, he would be turning in his grave. Like I said before, all he wanted was to be equal. He believed that everyone was born equal; no one man is better than the other. How are you going to say that you follow Dr.King, but yet you're still trying to push that you're better.

All I wanted out of this was for people to realize how dumb we as a GROUP have gotten. I'm not singling any one race out in this. We all got into this junk, we need to get out of it. Unfortuantly, there are only a select few who see this. Other's just want to point their finger in the other direction and say they did it. If we want to overcome this, we need to work as a whole.

Like no way.

Again, it feels like I haven't written in the longest time, which I really haven't. I've just been lazy and there is nothing to write about as usual. School is going really bad. I need to pick up my geometry grade by tomorrow or no baseball, fun! I've just been really tired all of the sudden, like as soon as I get home from school I want to sleep, and I sometimes do, and don't wake up till the next morning. Like really, I know sleep is good, but not that good. Things have just been going wrong at the wrong time. Like, I've been getting sick a lot, which is causing me to miss school, which is causing my grades to drop, which I don't like. And I'm too lazy to do the make up stuff. On a good note, I got into an AP class next year. AP Modern World History to be exact. I think it will be fun, and my chance to show people what I can really do. My government teacher also wants me to take AP phycology, which I also think will be fun, but I don't know if I should take it next year, or my senior year. I guess it all depends on if I fail any classes, which I hope I don't. Anyways, it's getting pretty late, well not really I'm just getting really tired, so LATA PLAYA

Apple buys Lala.

I know this may be old news to some, but as I am lacking thing's to write about, this is my only chance. For those of you that don't know, lala is a site that allows you to stream music from their catalog, and allows unlimited streaming for only 10 cents a track. Essentially it's like iTunes, but on the internet. It also scans the users hard drive to see their collection, then creates an online playlist based off of their collection. Many are confused of why they're buying lala, "lala’s licenses for streaming music with the major music labels are not transferable to any acquirer, and its service has not been a hit with mainstream consumers." To me, this is just showing that either apple wants to develop a cloud like system like lala, or they are worried about competition, like any business should be. It was later said that they are buying the engineer's, and the co-founder of the site, to gain knowledge in the cloud system.

That is all for now, I am very tired and need to get some sleep. Be sure to follow my twitter at http://twitter.com/TheRobGood. Thanks for reading.

Sexting.

Sexting is a sensitive subject to some, but to others, it needs to be addressed. To me, it is your responsibility to what ever you send, and you have the right over your body. You should not let anyone or anything influence your decision. Now, with that being said, I also believe that if the parent's find out, and do not intervene, it is also on them. A parents relationship with their child should never be shy, the child should no be afraid or worried to talk to their parent.

Another thing, if a person sends a explicit picture of themselves, then they should realize that there is a possibility that it will get sent around. They should be aware of the ridicule they will face if that happens. However, they should not be forced to endure it. I believe that the child should talk to someone about the bullying, either to a school councilor, or to a parent. Also, the teachers and school staff should make and input as well. I know the teachers have their own job to do, but aren't schools supposed to be safe and enjoyable? The teachers cannot be too blind to not see what is happening in front of them.

I will continue to work on this later today and tomorrow.

Don't think about that.

According to a study, our personalities affect more than who we interact with, they can actually influence your health. Some thought's are not good for you, as you may know, but we are now actually finding out what they can do. To me, anything negative you think about yourself, impacts you in a negative way. I always try to think positive, well most of the time, but at least I try. If anything negative comes up, I look at that situation and see how I can become a better person from it. It may not seem like it, but everything you think or do has a way in-its-self that you can change from. It also can make you a better person as long as you believe in yourself, and believe that you can over come anything in your way. Now there may be something's that test your ability to do so, but that's when you have to stiffen your upper lip and force your way threw.

I know this isn't my usual style of topic or post, but I read an article about feeling's, and it clicked with something in me. Anyways, it's 4 in the morning, I'm going to bed. Later!

Oh Internet.

This is a question I hear a lot, but never answer it. "Where would you be without the internet?" First off, I would like to say that I believe social contact merely exists because of the internet. I mean think about it. You got facebook, myspace, youtube, and a whole bunch of sites where people talk to there friend's, rather than going out. Also, in this day in age, almost every teen has a cellphone, and nearly everyone of them text. That also takes out some social contact, and well, lets face it, the need for a voice. But back to the question. I most likely would have straight A's, and be able to get a good night sleep. Now, you may be asking what do those thing's have to do with internet? Mostly, the reason I don't do some of my homework is because I get distracted by facebook, myspace, etc. I know you can just shut the computer down or close the laptop, but I can't. Now about the good night sleep, I usually stay on my laptop well into the morning. Again, without internet, this would not happen. There would be nothing keeping me on the computer, thus boring me to death causing me to close me laptop. I would like to see a time with no internet, however I would prefer that I did not know of its existence before hand, because then I would be miserable. Also, the internet is a major source of education. Research paper's, things to study, and so on. So I do not see a future without internet, but I'm fine with that. That's all for now, see ya later!
