OK, this subject never really bothered me, in fact, I love the idea of constructive criticism. It was not until recently that I began to think deeper into the idea. My own view on constructive criticism, which I will be calling CC from now on, is that of telling someone something they did wrong, and how to fix it.
What bothers me is, while at my baseball game, my coach noticed something I did wrong. He then preceded to yell at me that I did it wrong, and to fix it. This is where my perspective of CC turns fro good to bad. When I asked him what he was implying to do when he yelled at me, he simply said "Just a little constructive criticism." To me, that was not CC, but a acknowledgment to what I had done wrong, and telling me to fix it.
I would not be so frustrated, but this is they way he's been going about it for the whole season, and yes, it is a travel baseball team, so I don't suck. What ever my coaches tell me, I take to heart. It something I can't help. Therefore if a coach tells me I'm doing something wrong, and i screwed up, it gets to me. After what he says to me, never comes a "Nice try" or "Good hustle." So therefore I am inclined to think that I did not try my best to get something done.

However, this coach is probably one of the best coaches I have ever had. I asked him if he really thought that what I was doing for the team was only negative, he said he had never meant for it to be that way. He told me that what he is trying to do is build me as a player, and after recognizing a flaw so many times, it goes away. After hearing this, I completely agreed.
This is also a prime example of how to different people's opinion's on a subject can be totally diverse, but will have or want to have in the outcome. Never think that because someone says the agree on a topic differently than you, means that they want a different outcome, just simple a different approach to it.
