Well, after eating a half cooked burger, I got food poisoning. Unthinkable right? Anyways, I thought about writing again and so here I am. While laying in bed for most of the day, I enjoyed many good shows and movies. Well, more shows than movies. I watched A show about Earths twin: Venus. I had no idea that Venus, the planet in front of us if you bottom dweller's do not know, was once like Earth. This was astounding to me, the planet once had water. Keep in mind that the planet is now at a staggering 900 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, from the T.V show that I happened to see, I learned that it is not a dead planet. No, this does not mean there is life on Venus, but there are active volcanoes. Now back to the water that used to be there. What happened to it? Well, as you may know, the Earth has a so called magnetic "shield" around it. Reference the picture for a image of the shield. This shield is caused by the spinning of the iron in the core. Venus' core moves very slowly, in fact, on Venus rotation takes about 2/3 of an earth year. I believe he said 243 days. Such a slow rotation leaves no chance for a shield. What this shield does for the earth is protect the earth from solar wind. Scientists believe that the heat from being so close the sun, the water boiled away into the atmosphere, then the solar winds crash into the atmosphere, and it is gone into space. Then the atmosphere changed from water vapor, to Carbon Dioxide. Almost 97% of Venus' atmosphere is made up of carbon dioxide. Since the atmosphere is so thick, any sun light and radiation that may be able to get through, can not get back out into space, speeding up the global warming. Now, though we may not see it in our life time, Earth's fate is just like Venus'. The Sun over billions of years will heat up. Another weird thing about the atmosphere of Venus, the clouds and atmosphere travel 6o times faster than the planet. Also, the atmospheric pressure is 90 times that than Earth's. Enough to Crush a car. To top that, there are also Hurricanes on Venus! Now, if you don't know, hurricanes on Earth are cause by hot and cold are meeting over and ocean. So how is it possible for hurricanes to be on a waterless planet. The rotation of Venus is what causes it. Strange huh? There is also lightning on Venus! Again, water is what causes Lightning on Earth. On Venus, the clouds of sulfuric acid is thought to be the cause of lightning on Venus. Sulfuric acid is what is in batteries. Lightning is a ingredient for life. Since I do not feel like writing a book about Venus, I will stop writing. Thanks for reading and FOLLOW ME!
