"Night" by Elie Wiesel

Today, we had our English final, and one of the question's made a reference to the Book "Night" by Elie Wiesel. Now, if you haven't read or heard about the book, I would suggest doing so, as it is a very good novel. In this novel, Elie, tells the story of his experience in the Holocaust. He was just a little boy, the age of eleven when things started spiraling downwards. I'm not going to go into much more detail's, because me doing so would do no justice to the Novel.

Through this book he states all of his emotion's and thought's through out the experience. Without me being able to relate to these feeling's and the horrid thing's that not only he experienced, (I'm saying this for you, Grunt), I will try my best to not be judgmental about them. One thing that caught my heart though, was his perseverance to stay strong and not give up, and also that he is staying in it to almost force his dad through it too. As the book moves to the end, you can notice that his faith in God, and his passion to keep his father alive is fading away. This struck me as odd. Not so much about the losing faith in his God part, but losing the passion and will to keep his father and him trudging along in there terrible event.

You would figure a young man would need a father or mother figure to live and keep going, but Elie towards the end, almost blatantly states that his father was holding him back from surviving. I guess as much as he went through, he gained maturity and discipline faster then the best of us. Again, trying not to be judgmental.

All in all it was a really good read, keep in mind that I'm a freshmen in high school who does not take kindly to reading. Now, go out and get the Novel and start reading, You'll love it!

Thanks for reading and follow me if you like what you are reading.
